PSS ACTIVE SHOOTER

The threat of active shooter attacks against disparate targets ranging from military facilities, churches, schools, and movie houses to shopping malls is a persistent concern for all those tasked with protecting such facilities, and the victims who are directly and indirectly impacted by such violent rampages, regardless of their geographical location.

Most active shooter situations are unpredictable and evolve quickly. Because most incidents are over within minutes, we must be prepared to deal with the situation until law enforcement personnel arrive.

This half day course has been designed to reinforce awareness of the best practices to use when the unthinkable happens.

Participants will study how to respond to an active shooter incident, how to prepare for an incident, and how to conduct a proper follow-up. What to expect when law enforcement arrives will also be covered, as will elements of the Occupiers Liability Act, and sections 34 and 35 of the Canadian Criminal Code.
